#WIWT
#WIWT (what I wore today), performing objects, 2022, 7 pieces of pre-owned, fast-fashion clothing, waterm each 100 x 25 x 28 cm (before melting)
#WIWT (what I wore today) is a site-specific work developed for the exhibition Transgression at Volkspark am Weinberg, in the heart of Berlin. The outdoor exhibition, initiated by me, addressed issues of gentrification and crossing boundaries.
The objects are made of clear ice and incorporate pieces of fast-fashion clothing. They are performing objects that existed in the park for the 48 hours of the exhibition.
In the end, the majority of them disappeared into the ecosystem. Both the textile remains and the slow pace at which the ice melts play with the concept of “fast fashion.”
