Peachness is an installation composed of layers of tangible and media representations, exploring the female dream of eternal youth. It creates a landscape of physicality, change, and metamorphosis. The starting point is the Longevity Peach Bun, in its original edible form, and its reincarnations as a toy or container for skin cream. The Longevity Peach is a magical object. In this installation, its magic is transferred into a chaotic collection of objects—agents of both mystification and demystification—causing the objects to develop their own magic. This process, both chemical and aesthetic, is periodically manipulated by a performer who never gains full control.
