The performative installation NETZ (Web/Network) is a site-specific, community-celebrating work developed for the annual Goldrausch exhibition in 2017. My fellow Goldrausch artists were the starting point for my research. Over the course of the exhibition, an initially empty web is filled through performative interventions with materials collected from the works of my cohort. The web, spanning the entire room, functions like an organism processing them. In all its fragility, the installation fluctuates between vessel and membrane, drawing and sculpture. The initially disparate materials take on a new kind of familiarity as part of a unified installation, while simultaneously appearing different, foreign, and new.
