Elisa Duca is a mixed media artist, her artistic practice is shaped by transcultural experiences of foreignness and has its place in the post-migrant society.
In her performative installations she creates vibrant mixed states, in which the absurdity of clear categorizations can be experienced.
Her process of creation is highly influenced by non-human forms of agency; her hybrid creatures melt, merge, drip, breathe or dry over long periods of time, becoming living actors.
She invites to suspend the binarity of the digital and the real, the global and the local, the human and the more-than-human and to explore the potential of the in-betweenness.
