Elisa Duca is a mixed media artist whose practice is deeply shaped by transcultural experiences of foreignness, rooted in the context of post-migrant society.
Through her performative installations, she crafts vibrant mixed states that challenge the absurdity of rigid categorizations. Her creative process is profoundly influenced by non-human forms of agency, as her hybrid creatures melt, merge, drip, breathe, or dry over extended periods, transforming into living entities that blur traditional boundaries.
Duca’s work invites audiences to move beyond binary distinctions—between the digital and the real, the global and the local, the human and the other-than-human—and to engage with the transformative potential of in-betweenness.
