ATTEMPTS TO SHAPE TOGETHERNESS BLENDED
ATTEMPTS TO SHAPE TOGETHERNESS BLENDED celebrates hybridity, dissolution and proliferation. It presents a series of objects, created with a cast made from a water bottle. The objects resemble non-human bodies holding a mix of organic and inorganic materials, some of them melting away, blurring the border between the human and non-human worlds. The objects, derived from water bottles, are put back to their “original environment”: a fridge commonly found in convenience stores. Outside of the fridge they continue to multiply. Fed with images of the objects, an artificial intelligence created new familiar creatures. The mutations are shown on a video screen and printed on stickers on the floor, waiting to be taken and spread around in the city. The creatures continue to multiply.
The hybridity celebrated in this installation is in the materials used, but also in the many layers of transformation in processing them.
