NETZ (web/network) is site and culture specific. A web, spanning the entire room, is initially empty and then filled up through performative interventions over the course of the exhibition, with materials collected during a research period. These materials are being integrated into the web which works like an organism processing them. In all its fragility, the web fluctuates between vessel and membrane, drawing and sculpture. Initially disparate material takes on a new kind of familiarity as part of a unified installation and at the same time appears different, foreign, new.
